K氏は長年航空機、ホバークラフト、水中翼船を研究し、戦中は軍事用標的機の設計などし、最近は人力水中翼船のコンテスト出場などしているという多能な航空エンジニアである。自宅の倉庫にはこれまでの研究機がたくさん残されていて、立体ダコからいろいろな航空機の試作模型や人の乗れるヘリコプター（ベル４７型に近似）まで、ヘリは何でもテスト飛行に当局から待ったがかかったというシロモノである。
